Chelsea Community Hospital opened the community’s first Infusion Center in November 2010.
The Center, which was funded by Hospital donors, provides chemotherapy and other outpatient infusion services for residents of Chelsea and the surrounding communities. It is because of your support that we are now able to provide this important service, close to home.
The Center was developed in collaboration with IHA Hematology Oncology Consultants, a physician practice that specializes in the care of patients with blood disorders and cancer. The Center is located on the second floor of the Professional Building on the Chelsea Community Hospital campus, and overlooks the peaceful, wooded setting that the Hospital enjoys. The Infusion Center includes physician offices and exam rooms as well as six infusion bays.
Various Hospital events, including the annual Auction, Holiday Gala, and many private donations provided the funds needed to develop this important service in Chelsea. “We know that people often prefer to receive these services close to home,” said Kathleen Griffiths, President and CEO of CCH. “We’re proud to provide these important services to our communities. Ann Arbor Hematology Oncology Associates are highly respected experts in their field. These services have been needed in our community for a long time, and we are so pleased that the Center is finally a reality. We are also very grateful for the tremendous community support that helped make this possible.”
The Infusion Center is a first step toward the Hospital’s goal of providing more expanded cancer treatment services in the future.
As part of Saint Joseph Mercy Health System, Chelsea Community Hospital is also part of the Mercy Cancer Network.
