Intensive Outpatient Program

Isolation is often the hallmark symptom of chemical dependency in older adults. The Intensive Outpatient Program at the Older Adult Recovery Center in Chelsea provides socialization and structure as part of age-specific chemical dependency treatment. A multidisciplinary staff provides treatment geared towards older adults that includes individual, group, and family therapy, as well as education and support groups. Addiction, aging, grief and inter-generational issues are discussed. Recovering older adults volunteer in the program and provide support and comaraderie for newly recovering older adults. Age -friendly self-help support groups are also on site.

Chelsea Community Hospital

A private non-profit acute care facility is located on 119 wooded acres in the Village of Chelsea, Michigan, the Hospital is easily accessible from nearby freeways and is located between Ann Arbor and Jackson. Chelsea Community Hospital has 113 licensed beds, employs 950 people on full time or part time basis, credentials 300 physicians and enjoys the benefit of approximately 200 volunteers.
