The Older Adult Recovery Center (OARC) is a program of Chelsea Community Hospital that offers a continuum of chemical dependency services specifically designed to meet the needs of older adults.

The program’s content is sensitive to older adults who may be struggling with age-related difficulties such as health, retirement, isolation, grieving, or other issues. The pace of the program can be tailored to meet the specific needs of older adults by varying the treatment intensity and duration. The OARC program places a major focus on providing older adults with substance abuse education, recovery tools and strategies, and a long term plan for maintaining recovery and continued support.

The major service areas include:

• Outpatient detoxification – medically-monitored detox
• Intensive Outpatient Treatment – a treatment milieu consisting of educational, didactic, and therapy groups and individual sessions
• Standard Outpatient Treatment – includes individual treatment sessions and recovery groups
