Lymphedema patients will work with a certified lymphedema therapist who has specific education in treating this complex condition.
Complete Decongestive Therapy includes:
- Comprehensive evaluation
- Patient education, including proper skin care
- Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD)
- Compression garment consultation, fitting, referral and check-out
- Self-management techniques, including bandaging and MLD
- Instruction in home exercise program
This program may be right for you if you have the following edemas:
- Post-mastectomy arm swelling
- Post-lumpectomy arm or breast swelling
- Poor circulation/swelling in the legs
- Post-surgical swelling: facelift or joint replacements
