From the Editor: Feel Like Yourself Again
If you or a loved one has had a stroke, you might feel as if you’ve been blindsided by this life-changing event. Stroke can occur without warning, leaving you wondering what you could have done to prevent it, or whether it could happen again.
“The Many Faces of Stroke” focuses on knowing how certain factors — some you can control and some you can’t — increase your risk of stroke. Some patients who already have had a stroke can be helped by new technology. Check out the online feature on the functional electronic stimulator on our Web site at www.cch.org. The video shows a stroke victim walking with a normal gait. This is very exciting technology for the therapists at CCH.
We'll also cover early summer sports injuries. Both the rotator cuff and tennis elbow articles highlight risky behaviors and provide simple advice to restore the athlete within you.
Next quarter, we’ll focus on technological improvements at CCH and their impact on the quality and process of delivering excellent patient care.
