Recognizing the importance of quality child care as an aid to family life, Chelsea Community Hospital established the Children's Center in the fall of 1977 for community as well as employees' children. The Center offers a healthy social and educational experience in a stimulating environment.
Philosophy - The foundation of the Children's Center is a child-centered program in an atmosphere of warmth and security. Each child is a unique person and so his/her needs are met in a variety of ways. In a safe setting, the program incorporates a schedule that alternates quiet with active play, solitary with group play, and child-directed with teacher-directed activities. It is especially designed to meet the child's individual physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs.
