FREE Senior Seminar on Laughter Planned 03/18/2011 ST. JOSEPH MERCY INVITES LOCAL SENIORS TO KEEP A POSITIVE MENTAL OUTLOOK THROUGH THE JOY OF LAUGHTER
Port Huron, MI…St. Joseph Mercy is pleased to announce it will host a Healthy Aging seminar designed specifically with seniors in mind. The April program will feature Chaplain Sister Kathy Wood, OP, who will present, “LAUGHTER: IT REALLY IS THE BEST MEDICINE,” an engaging program for area seniors, age 55 and older, to help them maintain a positive mental outlook through the joy of laughter.
The Healthy Aging series is one of the many programs St. Joseph Mercy has developed to enhance its provision of services to better reflect the unique requirements of our aging population. “Laughter: It Really is the Best Medicine” will be held on Wednesday, April 20, beginning at 2 p.m., in the Baggot Street Café (Cafeteria) of St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, located at 2601 Electric Avenue, Port Huron.
Other seminars will follow each month with programs designed to help seniors maintain both their physical and mental health. Look for more information as these programs become available. These free programs include refreshments and educational sessions.
