FREE AAA Screening Planned
ST. JOSEPH MERCY HOSTS FREE VASCULAR HEALTH SCREENING & FAIR
Port Huron, MI…...More than two million people in the United States suffer from abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA); and, unfortunately, most people don’t even know it until it’s ultimately too late. To help the community residents better identify their risk, aortic aneurysm will be the focus of a FREE Vascular Health Screening and Fair sponsored by St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Port Huron Vascular Clinic, PC, and Medtronic, Inc.
The program will include a free screening for AAA with noninvasive ultrasound which will be performed by St. Joseph Mercy and Port Huron Vascular Clinic, PC, professionals. The results of the testing will be read by Robert Lee, MD, and Sadiq Hussain, MD, vascular surgeons and specialists at Port Huron Vascular Clinic, PC. The results will also be sent to the participant’s primary care physician upon request. The program also includes an extensive health fair with numerous professionals available to provide health information on such topics as diabetes, sleep issues, breast health, laboratory and pharmacy, cardiology and orthopedics.
The free Vascular Health Screening & Fair will be held Saturday, January 29, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, located at 2601 Electric Avenue, Port Huron, MI, and includes refreshments. All participants interested in obtaining the free health screenings are required to pre-register and obtain an appointment.
