John Ference, MD, Named October 2009 Patient Focused Physician of the Month 10/19/2009 Port Huron, MI…John Ference, MD, was named the October 2009 St. Joseph Mercy Patient-Focused Physician of the Month. The St. Joseph Mercy Patient-Focused Physician of the Month award highlights a physician’s commitment to working collaboratively to promote patient and community health through clinical excellence and patient-focused care. Physicians honored with this award must also be one whom St. Joseph Mercy Hospital staff and volunteers would recommend to family and friends in the community.
Dr. Ference is a local interventional radiologist and provides care to patients through X-Ray Associates of Port Huron, PC. He was nominated for his ability to work collectively with St. Joseph Mercy clinical staff and his uncompromised compassion to patients.

He treats the nurses and radiology staff with respect and professionalism and values the opinions and experience of their field of expertise. He also shows compassion for all his patients. The award is presented each month to a physician on staff at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.
