Mercy Diabetes Center Hosts "Home...Sweet...Home" Fall Diabetes Education Event 09/29/2009 Port Huron, MI…St. Joseph Mercy’s Diabetes Education Department is pleased to host the 2009 community education event, “Home…Sweet…Home”. This event is open to all type 1 and type 2 individuals living with diabetes, who would like more in-depth information regarding diabetes self-management and changing behaviors to help manage diabetes.
This year’s premier adult diabetes education program will be held Saturday, November 7, 2009, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the St. Joseph Mercy Baggot Street Café. The event will include interactive presentations by guest speakers Robert Camara, DO, who will provide detailed patient care information; Kevin Townsend, RPh, who will offer information on behavior change and goal setting; and – back by popular demand – Mr. Sweet (Jeff Hoomaian) who will return to discuss his progress as he continues down the road of diabetes self management.
Presented by St. Joseph Mercy’s highly-skilled diabetes educators, the program will explore key diabetes information and provide real-world tips to successfully manage diabetes. The cost of the event is $10 per person, and will include lunch, a free gift, the presentation, and informational and educational displays from local diabetes vendors.
