St. Joseph Mercy Oakland And Automation Alley Still Have Spaces Available For ‘Managing Workplace Stress’ Seminar
Public Event Includes Speakers, Yoga Demonstration, Health Screenings
Pontiac, Mich.—St. Joseph Mercy Oakland (SJMO) and Automation Alley announce that reservations are still available for their joint seminar on “Healthy Habits for Managing Workplace Stress,” scheduled for Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at the Automation Alley headquarters, 2675 Bellingham, Troy.
The day will begin at 8:30 a.m. with registration, light breakfast and health screenings, including blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and stress/depression (self-assessment). The program will begin at 9 a.m. with a welcome, followed by speakers who will discuss how to transform unhealthy workplace habits into healthy ones that will benefit an individual’s body, mind and spirit.
Speakers and their topics include:
- Tom Rifai, MD, Medical Director, Metabolic Nutrition and Weight Management Program, St. Joseph Mercy Oakland, “Nutritional and Metabolic Health”;
- Ramesh Madhavan, MD, DM, Medical Director of Telemedicine, St. Joseph Mercy Oakland, “The Relationship Between Stress and Heart Disease”;
- Donald Deering, PhD, behavior modification coach and specialist affiliated with the Department of Behavioral Medicine, St. Joseph Mercy Oakland, “Managing Stress and Depression”;
- Jeff Sanford, CPE, Humantech, “Is Your Office Layout Stressing Your Body?”; and
- Donna Raphael, Registered Yoga Teacher and St. Joseph Mercy Oakland associate, yoga and stretching demonstration.
Following the program at 11 a.m., health screenings will again be offered, and 10-minute chair massages will be available. The seminar ends at 1 p.m.
