ST. JOSEPH MERCY OAKLAND ANNOUNCES ITS PARTIAL HOSPITAL PROGRAM RELOCATES ADJACENT TO MAIN HOSPITAL

Program Treats People With Behavioral Concerns

Pontiac, Mich.-St. Joseph Mercy Oakland (SJMO)'s Department of Behavioral Medicine announces its Partial Hospital Program has moved to 44428 Woodward Ave., Pontiac, in the Woodward Professional Building, directly across the street from the main hospital. SJMO is located at 44405 Woodward Ave., Pontiac.

The Partial Hospital Program treats patients with acute psychiatric symptoms, which, without treatment would require admission to SJMO. The program teaches coping skills to individuals with depression, anxiety and stress and how to make a successful transition back to daily life.

Treatments include medication management, individual therapy, group therapy, activity therapy, education classes, discharge planning and family sessions. Directing the program are Neelakantam Jolepalem, MD, Chair of the Department of Behavioral Medicine; Kate Austin, RN, Nursing Director; and Patricia Rodway, RN, Nurse Manager. The treatment team includes a board-certified psychiatrist, psychologist, registered nurse, social worker and activity therapist.

Transportation to and from the program is available.

SJMO Partial Hospital Program hours are 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
