St. Mary Mercy Hospital is offering beginning and intermediate Hatha Yoga classes on Tuesdays from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. beginning January 29 through March 5, in Classrooms 1 & 2 at St. Mary Mercy Hospital.
Hatha Yoga increases flexibility, energy level and strength at your own pace in a non-competitive setting. Meditation and breathing techniques included. Class participates need to be able to move between a standing position to a hands and knees position with ease. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a firm blanket or sticky mat and bottled water. Please refrain from eating at least two hours before class.
The purpose of yoga is integration, purification and discipline of the mind, body and heart, which will lead all to liberation from the circle of pain, distress and anxiety.
Registration is required. There is a fee of $45 for the six-week session. Space is limited, class fills quickly. To register, call 734.655.1162 or register online at stmarymercy.org and click on “classes and events.”
