Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Try this healthy oatmeal chocolate chip cookie recipe the next time you need to whip up a batch of cookies but don't want all the calories that go with them.

Ingredients

    • 1 cup whole wheat flour
    • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • 2 1/2 cups oats
    • 1/2 cup oat bran
    • 1 1/4 cups trans fat free reduced calorie margarine
    • 2/3 cup brown sugar, packed
    • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 4 egg whites
    • 2 tsp vanilla
    • 3/4 cup dark chocolate chips

Preparation

    • Preheat oven to 375°. In a small bowl, combine flours, baking soda, oats and oat bran. In a large bowl, cream together margarine and sugars. Add egg whites and vanilla, beat until smooth. Gradually add dry ingredients until combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
    • Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
    • Bake 12-14 minutes or until golden. Transfer to wire racks to cool.
