2012 Golf Classic Highlights

St. Mary Mercy Hospital Golf Classic Raises $215,000 for new South Pavilion

St. Mary Mercy Hospital’s annual “Tee It Up” Golf Classic raised over $215,000 for the Generations Together Campaign. The funds support the hospital’s new 154,000-square-foot addition, the South Pavilion. A record number of golfers, a total of 268 people, participated in the fundraiser and silent auction that was held Monday, June 18 at the Meadowbrook Country Club in Northville.

Opening in fall 2012, the South Pavilion includes a new state-of-the-art emergency center and two floors of all-private patient rooms on the southwest side of campus. The project includes the renovation of current semi-private patient rooms to private rooms on the north end of campus.

This year, over 100 businesses offered a variety of monetary and in-kind gifts to make this event such a success. Special thanks goes to our Graphite ($10,000) Sponsors, Hearts of Livonia and Phillips Services Industries, Inc. and Committee Chair, Tim Belanger of AIM Construction, Inc. in Livonia.

"It’s inspiring that so many community members, physicians and civic and business leaders have shown their support to enhance our healing environment at St. Mary Mercy," said Dave Spivey, President and CEO, St. Mary Mercy Hospital.  "Your gifts will help to make a difference everyday moving forward."

Also, thanks to all who supported the event, including our major sponsors: our Golfer Gift Sponsors ($5,000) - ARAMARK, Concord EMS, Emergency Physicians Medical Group, PC, Heartland Health Care Centers, the Ferrantino Charitable Foundation, Inc., Lori’s Gifts, and the St. Mary Mercy Hospital Medical Staff and our Eagle Sponsors ($3,500)- Academic Internal Medicine Specialists, AIM Construction, Inc., Infinity Primary Care, PC and Laurel Manor Banquet and Conference Center.  Bill Brown Ford, Hines Park Lincoln Mercury, Orin Jewelers and Motor City Harley-Davidson sponsored the hole-in-one contests.

The Generations Together Campaign also hosted a separate fundraiser with a raffle for a 2012 Softail Deluxe Harley-Davidson Motorcycle donated by Motor City Harley-Davidson in Farmington Hills. The raffle raised more than $21,000. The winner of the raffle, Larry D'Ascenzo from Guardian Plumbing & Heating, Inc., was announced Saturday, June 23.
