What we do
The Department of Diagnostic Imaging performs general radiography (x-ray), Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Digital Mammography, Stereotactic Core Breast Biopsy, Bone Density, CT and MRI. We have two imaging areas on our hospital campus: one is in the main hospital and the other is in the Professional Building.
Highly qualified and specialized radiologists interpret your imaging studies. The majority of your imaging reports are available to your physician within 24 hours of the completion of your imaging exam. Because all of our imaging is digital, your referring physician also has the capability to view your imaging studies at his or her office on a computer.
NOTE: When making an appointment for imaging exams, please note where the secretary tells you to go for your services as the location for many of our imaging exams has moved to the main hospital. If you have any questions about your appointment, please call 734-593-5500.

All Digital Mammography
When it comes to your health care, you expect the best - and that includes important tests like your annual mammogram.
Until recently, all mammography services were the same. But technology has changed that, and Chelsea Community Hospital is offering the most advanced mammogram available.
Within seconds of getting your mammogram, the technologist will see the image on a high-resolution computer monitor. The image can be adjusted, brightened, and enlarged with the touch of a button - and it can be easily sent electronically to a radiologist and viewed by your physician without losing any detail.
No waiting for film to develop, no copying and transferring of bulky films with potential loss of clarity, and less chance of needing a re-take.
